When I'm writing, I naturally have to make decisions regarding characters, their fate, and the general flow of a story. While it is an incredibly enjoyable process in itself, after a story finishes, I'm always left with a huge "What if?". What if this person wasn't there at the time? What if they didn't say what they said, or vice versa? What if I wrote it this way instead of that way because I was afraid of reader backlash at the time?

Well, now I don't have to. The outcomes will be dependent on you!

The characters as well as your environment are organic and they are meant to react to you. You won't know what kind of people you are dealing with unless you get to know them. They won't open up to you if you don't make an effort. You will get locked out of your apartment if you've forgotten to check a drawer many paragraphs ago, which you may or may not have a chance to go back to.

 

And you most definitely won't get lucky if you don't play your cards right.
